Glossary of Terms
Multimedia: The incorporation of media, audio, video, animation etc., to a product to enhance it acceptability and effectiveness to the end-user.
CBT: Computer based training. The presentation of a course of instruction in digital form for use on a personal computer.
Authoring: The development of CBT using the appropriate authoring software tool for the task.
Promotion: A product intended to promote a company or their products.
Induction: A course of instruction used to provide company orientation informaton and a general sense of the modus operandi of the company.
XTRA: A term given by Macromedia for a plug-in or add-in program to enhance the Macromedia Director program. Macromedia Authorware plug-ins are called UCD's.
SCORM: a suite of technical standards that enable Web-based learning systems to find, import, share, reuse, and export learning content in a standardized way.
